Warrior women ranked No. 24 in latest poll

The Lewis-Clark State College women’s basketball team checked in at No. 24 when the NAIA released the Division I Coaches’ Top 25 on Tuesday.

The Warriors, ranked 21st a week ago, received 66 points from voters. They have appeared in every poll this season and are one of five Frontier Conference schools in the Top 25.

LC State, which is 18-7 overall and 4-5 in the Frontier, is coming off a stretch where it faced ranked opponents in each of its last three games. The Warriors next foe, Montana Tech, is 8-16 overall and winless in conference play. That game tips at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Activity Center and will air on 950 KOZE-AM.

Freed-Hardeman once again topped the rankings. For the seventh consecutive week, the Tennessee school landed at No. 1 after tallying nine first-place votes and 250 points overall. Defending national champion Oklahoma City ranked second after collecting the other first-place vote and 242 points.
